The Village Retail Art Gallery:

Development phase:

We are investigating the concept to provide a stunning Village Gallery to showcase high quality and diverse artworks for immediate sale to customers.
We have identified a high need for retail space for the prolific artists in the Bay of Plenty to have opportunity for their work to be represented and available.

We are visualising a collective-type model where exhibiting artists contribute to the  overheads through a subscription and commission basis enabling us to provide this opportunity to the sector.
We are investigating collective group models based on volunteer roster systems that enable the gallery to be open during Village hours and give opportunity for the participating artists to support each other, connect, be part of the wider Incubator Creative Hub ecosystem and be part of the groundbreaking transformation of the Historic Village into a vibrant Arts Destination.

Ceramic Artist /Pottery Retail/Studio/Exhibition Space

We are well underway to launch this Ceramic/Pottery space which will include multiple working studios, a purpose solo exhibition gallery for ceramic artists and potters to exhibit. This programme will dovetail into the Incubator's exhibition and launch programme for the Incubator Gallery (Emerging and Established artists ) and The People's Gallery-Toi ka ere (Community Gallery).

This space will have a purpose designed retail ceramic and pottery gallery. We are looking for feedback and interest as we

research the best fit to manage this gallery space with a collective/community kaupapa.

Regular Monthly Practical Arts Group

We have had many people express an interest in a regular get together in the Artery where creatives can get together and create their magic , separate but together. This can be an opportunity to motivate each other, meet people, get inspired, share skills, materials, morning tea We would love to help build this platform to grow a group which is self supporting with a shared roles in communicating with each other and setting up and packing away.

Village Community Cinema

We are working to develop the Village Cinema as an accessible well used space to celebrate film makers, the showcasing of film, the development of diverse film festivals to name a few.

We would like to hear from you with any ideas about hw you would benefit from having a community cinema and how we can help make these ideas happen!
