About the event
You never knew you needed a shrine until now! Or, perhaps you need a new one or another one....
Come and hand craft your very own ceramic shrine. Guided by The Pot House's lovely resident artist Dominique Ford of Precocious Vessels, you'll hand build your shrine, giving it it's own unique shape, texture, and colour pattern - making it the perfect frame to cradle all your most special or sacred trinkets and taonga.

Dominique will fire your shrines for and you'll be able to pick them up within 3 weeks of the workshop.
A ceramic artist with a background in graphic design and children's book illustration, Dominique has three adult children and lives with her husband and some cats in rural Tauranga. Dominique describes her ceramics as fun and freaky, cute and creepy. "Do they want to hug you, or eat you?" Inspired by slugs, bugs and sea things; triffids, tentacles and body parts, Domonique believes everybody needs a vase to put pretty flowers in, especially if it has eyeballs, teeth and tentacles.
You can see Dominique’s work on her Instagram @precocious_vessels or see them in the flesh at The Pot House, Historic Village
