Looking for school holiday activities in Tauranga this July?

The Incubator Creative Hub at the Historic Village has two weeks of creative adventures for Tamariki /Children and Whānau/Families this July — and there's something at every price point, including free.

Week one celebrates Matariki (the Māori New Year) with classic Kiwi cinema — Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Whale Rider on the big screen at our boutique Village Cinema — alongside butterfly and mixed-media art workshops with resident artists.

Week two brings Juggler Jay to the Jam Factory: Aotearoa's youngest surviving duck juggler, performing two magic shows and running a hands-on circus skills workshop where tamariki/children make their own juggling balls to take home. There are also acrylic painting workshops with Emma Prill, a somatic kids dance party with Alice Sea that ends with live flute, harp and sound healing, and the SpongeBob Movie for a fun final week treat.
 

Running throughout the entire holidays — and completely free — is our drop-in whetū (star) weaving activity in the gallery, where tamariki/children can engage with Te Waka o Rangi, an art installation created by students from Northern Health School, and weave their own star to add to the constellation.
 

Open Monday–Saturday, 10am–4pm, no booking needed.
