Opened by the Tauranga and Western BOP Mayors in 2017.  The Incubator recognised the need for a community gallery to provide an important visual platform in which community groups within the Bay of Plenty region can display and promote their diverse range of creative talents.

With an emphasis on telling stories and raising awareness about our local communities, this exhibition programme enables the empowerment of grassroots artists, utilises the power of art to highlight social issues in a palatable way.

​The space is not limited to the Bay of Plenty but welcomes travelling groups to display and connect with our local community through art.

The People’s Gallery is Tauranga’s Schools Gallery hosting the annual exhibitions for 7 schools.
