About the event
Announcing our second arts-inspired programme for CREATIVE COMMUNITY CINEMA, we’re going big, bold and blockbuster, with 3 monthly films from August to October, that pay homage to and celebrate, the sublime craft of costume design.
With all 3 films Academy Award winners for costume design, come join us at the Village Community Cinema for these inspiring crafty film screenings - think knitting, crochet, hand-sewing, journalling, hand-embroidery, sketching.
Meet new crafty friends and watch great films, all whilst working on your latest (or stashed away) crafty project, and supporting our independent cinema!
A road-trip classic about two drag queens Anthony (Hugo Weaving), Adam (Guy Pearce) and transgender Bernadette (Terrance Stamp), who head to Alice Springs in their colourful bus, named Priscilla. The three performers travel across the Australian desert performing for enthusiastic crowds and hostile locals to put on a stage show extravaganza.
Based upon the lives of three actual drag queens…
