About the event
Presented by The Incubator Creative Hub, our All About ART - Sunday Arts Documentary series presents, EXIT THROUGH the GIFT SHOP.
Directed by Banksy, the anonymous, world-renowned street artist, satirist, and political activist from Bristol, UK, Exit Through the Gift Shop is a documentary chronicling Thierry Guetta, a French immigrant in LA whose obsession with filming street artists leads him to befriend figures like Shepard Fairey and Banksy.
Banksy turns the camera on Guetta, documenting his transition into "Mr. Brainwash," a successful yet critically questioned street artist.
Exit Through the Gift Shop examines the authenticity of art, the impact of commercial success, and whether the art world is fooled by hype. A hugely popular documentary on its release, many viewers and critics wondered if the entire film was a hoax or a "prank" by Banksy, ....as only the ever-elusive Banksy does best!
