Lampshade Making Workshops

A fun time out learning to make your very own drum lampshade, tapered or straight.

Must pre-book to reserve your space, only 8 spaces per class. 

You will have the choice of 3 sizes...

A small/medium diameter straight sided drum shade (11", approx 28cm suitable for table or pendant) OR A larger diameter straight sided drum shade. (15", approx 38cm, suitable for small floor or pendant) OR A small/medium sized tapered shade (approx 14", approx 35.5cm diameter at widest part, suitable for table lamp).

You may have the opportunity to fabric line your shade too at this class depending on number in the class, your confidence and the time available. This will be determined and notified pre class to those booked. 

The price includes everything needed except fabric. Please bring along 0.5m of standard width fabric of your choice to go around the circumference of your shade (MUST BE MINIMUM OF 1.35m for the 15" larger shade). Cotton or linen is the best to use. Please NO silks, sheers or velvet/heavy upholstery fabric. If you decide to line your shade you will need the same amount of fabric in addition.  

A small number of fabrics may be available to choose from for anyone who forgets to bring their own. These cut pieces will be approx $10-15 to purchase on the day (cash only). Occasionally Claire will bring along some designer fabrics which will be approx $45 per 0.5m cut from the roll.  

WE DO NOT OFFER REMAKING OF OLD SHADES IN THIS CLASS, only the above sizing described. If you require a custom made or remade lampshade, we offer this service to make for you.
