About the event
Artist, Illustrator and author Claire lives and works in Rotorua and originally hails from the UK.
This exhibition of delightful oil paintings on round wooden substrates have been inspired by the artist’s travels throughout Aotearoa. Whilst unable to travel abroad Claire took advantage of the wonderful places here in New Zealand to see and during these trips she gained a huge appreciation for what we have on our doorsteps, giving her mind the opportunity to wander, to nourish her imagination and create wonderful stories.
You will experience these stories depicted in Claires true whimsical and quirky illustrative style in ‘Little adventures”.
Claire describes these works as potholes to another world. The audience will be immersed in her world and amazed at what little adventures they can have of their own.
About the Artist: Claire’s love of travel and adventure feeds her art. Her style is often described as whimsical and quirky. She delights in characters on the fridge of life. The rebels and misfits who see the world differently. Alongside writing and illustrating several books she has taught in the community for over thirty years.
