To ensure a fulfilling experience, Sally-Ann will provide all necessary materials and tools: woodcutting tools, carving blocks, printing paper, ink, and brayers. As well as various block sizes.

Before you start carving, Sally-Ann will walk you through the design elements, assisting you in creating your ideas and transferring them onto the carving block. Discover the art of applying ink evenly to the block, resulting in a painterly impression. Experiment with monochromatic and multi-colour printing, broadening your creative possibilities.

The heart of woodcut printing lies in carving designs onto the wooden block. You'll learn various carving techniques, such as line carving, cross-hatching, and creating textures. Gain confidence in skillfully manipulating the tools to bring your designs to life.
