Penumbra - Fringe Group Exhibition

These unique crafts serve as everyday objects. Curated into one living space, they form the penumbra—a partial view, a half-light, a glimpse, a portrait without a subject.

The viewer is the light source, without which nothing is revealed. The objects are what the light hits—solid, present, shaping what can be seen. And in the penumbra they cast, an individual appears: a partial shadow, blurred at the edges, visible but not clear. This is the subject as imagined—half-formed, invented in the viewing.

This exhibition will be part of the Fringe Festival 2026, Saturday 24 October, at The Incubator Creative Hub, The Historic Village, 17th Ave, Tauranga. On display at The People's Gallery from 24 October to the 14 November, 10am to 3pm.
