About the event
Phainesthai is when something shines forth and captures your attention. It is the realization of what's most significant. Phainesthai is when an Artist is inspired by a muse and compelled to paint an image in its likeness.
In this exhibition Sam has created a series of paintings inspired by ideas and concepts that stand out to him the most. The theme of the artwork is predominantly archetypal concepts that are universal across the human experience.
Sam Doran is a local Artist who loves all things to do with art and creativity. Sam is constantly involved in Artistic pursuits. Ranging from creating a body of work for this exhibition to tattoo apprenticing at Art and Body Collective to coordinating a mural project at MMI school. Art comes as second nature to Sam, he is constantly inspired by the world around him. This inspiration turns to passion which becomes expressed in his work.
On display in The Incubator Gallery from the 22nd December to the 28th December 2023. 3rd – 14th January 2024.
