About the event
Leah’s rug tufting workshop is a modern take on traditional rug-making, using a tufting gun to create contemporary placement rugs or wall-hangings up to 60x60cm.
In this full day workshop participants will receive a detailed introduction and guidance on tufting; operating the tufting gun, design transferring on monk's cloth, tufting techniques and finishing a bespoke piece. All materials and equipment will be provided, included a tufting gun, monk's cloth, NZ rug wool, rug tufting frames, fabric glue, a rug carver and backing finishes, including woven backing and twill tape. Projectors are available to help with sketching initial designs. There will also be tea, coffee and snacks!
