Come   and join Ruth Merriman in our beautiful Kawakawa Room and bring your   imagination to life! Tell your story through your very own Amazing Folding   Storybook.

Kids! You can bring something to inspire your characters and/or story – perhaps a toy, or a photo or another drawing. Ruth will provide afternoon snacks, fruits and drink.

Over three sessions, Ruth will guide you in developing two characters to make a short illustrative story, using a variety of mediums: black ink pens, graphite and colour pencils, water colour markers and pencils on a high strength card. Your story will slowly come to life with each fold of your storybook!

Ruth has worked in the education sector at different levels for the past 30 years. She has been an Early Childhood educator, teacher aide, worked in primary and Intermediate schools. She is also a character creator herself and works in a variety of media but specialises in pen and watercolour.
