ACCESSIBILITY

We take pride in our warm, welcoming culture here at The Incubator and we want everyone to feel supported when visiting our spaces. The streets are wide, our spaces all have ramp access, and the Historic Village have a baby changing table, one disability toilet and we have an allocated disability carpark. As an organisation that operates with such diverse areas of society and with many different types of people, we hope to help support everyone equally when it comes to accessing our spaces.

Unfortunately, not all of our spaces are accessible but please know that we are actively working with the Tauranga City Council (our landlords) to develop and improve these areas where it lacks. The Incubator does have an accessibility coordinator, Melanie who is happy to support you with any further details. Please get in contact with her directly if you have any special requests or queries by emailing access@theincubator.co.nz.

Low vision and hearing Ninja Knitters

Our Ninja Knit's monthly knitting and crochet group have bombed the @creativecommunitycampus.

The works covering the poles were actually knitted by a lady from Blind Low Vision during lockdown. This lady has macular degeneration so all this work is a triumph over adversity. Great mahi, Ninja's we love seeing the colour splashed all over our spaces!

Island of Misfits

The idea behind this group is to see neurodivergent young adults find belonging and friendship in an accepting community. They want to see young adults grow in their identity and create safe spaces to have conversations about faith, community and different worldviews, to give them a space to share what they believe, and share their story. There vision is to be an advocate for neurodivergents in New Zealand and empower them to engage in their communities through leadership, creativity and social opportunities and to see young adults find a new sense of hope and purpose and reach their full potential

Here's what some of the group members said about The Incubator:

"Ruth and the whole team were extremely accommodating, easy to deal with and made everything work, you could tell they really cared about our group members, team and organisers. 10/10 would reccommend!"

"Good accessibility. Perfect all round. Like the artwork on the walls."
